Look, to my knowledge, Sonic has a lot of basic attacks. From the games I've played I've gathered that if he would run fast enough he would do some boom thing and whatever... Which I can't see being used in Brawl because of the stages are too small, and the amounts of objects that will hurl from the sky, not to mention probably being killed every few seconds.

Bounce, spin, buzzsaw, punch, kick, homing, waves, supersonic, chaoscontroll, etc.
Mario:Jump, fireball, grow, metal, tanooki, blah blah
Never changes...

I find it interesting that you felt the need to include such basic things, like punch and kick into Sonic's attacks, surely he could have a little more variety than that. Why is it that you never put these in Mario's attacks? Because, wow, he can jump on things too. There's a reason he isn't Jumpman any more, he's expanded into something better and has a much larger attack scale than Sonic.

Homing? That was Sonic Adventure, was it not? I do believe that everyone can hit a target from mid-air, that's what aerial attacks are for. I can't see how this would be useful, it can possibly be made for a double jump, and almost every character has an attack when they do this, unless they're Kirby and Jigglypuff.

Hell, Sonic's attacks were so bleak he had to tranform; Zelda does that and we never get to play as her in games.

I have Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and I have to admit it was better than just decent, that's where I grasped the controls of Sonic on a Nintendo console. They didn't feel the same as other games, of course there was an increase of speed but jumps were too airy, and this goes for everyone really. It's all too mechanical for my liking, I'd rather have the smooth Nintendo manouvre I'm used to, thank you very much.

i think mario would win in a fight if they both got to use all they're abilities becauses mario has metal, wing cap, ghost, fire, ect. and all sonic has is rings and super sonic (which to me kinda seems like a rip off of super saiyan from dragon ball z correct me if im wrong)

so you played one sonic game and basing that he only has the attacks in that game?

that's like someone playing galaxy, and the only attacks they come up with is spin attack,

No, you moron, that's the only one I owned for the GameCube. I liked it so much that I went out to rent DX, but that game was just torture. I've also dabbled in a bit of Heroes and found that terrible as well. What other games am I supposed to give a go on a Nintendo console? Because I can't imagine up any before the GameCube... That's put me off getting any Wii versions, plus, the string of bad reviews.

^Chill out.

And on a slightly off topic but slightly more fun note:

DX!!

I said Punch Kick for the idiots that said he couldnt in the other 3678834568 "Sonic in SSBB" threads, but so you know, they didnt change his name from Jumpman to Mario just because he does more than jump.
It's been said time and time again, Emma, he didnt have to have moves used in SSBB in past Sonic games, (Ex: Fox, Ice Climbers, Ganon, etc.) and even so, iv'e posted a MILLION FUKING TIMES detailed movesets for Sonic (of which would have trumped what he's got) so saying he has no moves would make you very dense.
EXAMPLE OF SONIC SPECIAL MOVELIST
B Rolling Slide (Sonic Advance series)
↑B Chaos Controll "And dont feed me that Shadow can only do it crap, because Sonic could in SA2B as well" (Sonic Adventure 2: Battle)
←→B Sonic Wind (Sonic Adventure 2: Battle)
↓B Spin Dash (Debued in Sonic 2)
FSA Super Sonic (OBVIOUS)
OTHERS/SPARESFire Gaze (Sonic Secret Rings)/ Tornado Spin (Sonic Battle & Sonic Rush)/ Homing Attack (Sonic Adventure and so on)/ Speed Break [As a rush attack move like Fox Illusion but with pushback force] (Sonic Secret Rings & Sonic Rush)/ ETC ETC ETC

Items: Speed Up/Shield/Rings
Stages: Egg Carrier/Green Hill
Musuc: SA2B theme/Green Hill Theme/E.Carrier Theme(Sonic Adventure)

Since Nintendo decided to add 3rd party charecters to SSBB, who better than Sonic? You seem to be against adding Sonic and not 3rd party like you say (which is gettin' old) and continuously pick at the common UNknowledge that he is inferior due to of lack of moves, well theres a special moveset (I can easily make a standard moveset as well) so you were either going off of little information like the rest of the haters, or hold a grudge, either way, it's pointless.

EDIT: Not trying to sound harsh, but it's true...

i fully support this post

The update had some cool things in it, but for the most part it was stuff we already knew. Not worth staying up for.

Goodnight all

We've went through this many times and I don't think any one of us is going to change their mind, horray for being stubborn. But, if someone starts something about Sonic I'm of course going to attack him because I just don't see him fitting well in this game, there's a lot of the Sonic franchise that I actually like and I really didn't mind playing his games. I just saw Smash Bros as a Nintendo thing and think it should remain that way.

Whenever that day comes for the European release, which should be within the next century, I hope, I will play as everyone. I can only really decide whether Sonic has good moves when I play him there or then. Your moveset isn't the original moveset, there's lots of variety for everyone, see, even the Pikmin stand a chance at getting in this game.

As my view stands right now, I don't like Sonic in this game, he's destroyed most of the feel to Smash Bros, it doesn't matter how hard you try and convince me he is suited for this game I won't agree with you. I think it was all a scheme to please the Sega fanboys who went down long ago, after all, we do know why Sonic is in there in the first place.

I don't like third party characters, it's not a fighting game for everyone, it's Nintendo. Allowing Sonic and Snake in is horrible, now you've got all of these morons suggesting Sora for this game, and no doubt, Sora could have a brilliant moveset but I won't agree to it. The controls on a Nintendo system are different, and you have a distinct feel to the types of games, you can tell the difference between Nintendo and Sega.

Can we drop this now? Because I could continue arguing with you, it'll just lead us all the way back to the start.
