Still confused about game freak's decision on that...

So how'd you handle Misty?

Misty was easy. Nidoking and Nidoqueen are ground type but water isn't super-effective against them because they're poison type first.

You mean they weren't evolved prior to the gym battle, right? >_>;

Nope, they were evolved. The instant I got the two moonstones in Mt. Moon, they were used on them to make Nidoqueen and Nidoking.

I have no idea why, but water is not strong against them and I think it's because, due to the limited technology of the game, any damage looking for whether it's "Super effective" against it looks for the first type only.

Ok, nope, I was wrong. It is in fact super effective against them. I guess the issue was that Nidoqueen and Nidoking each have such a huge abundant supply of hit points and a high special defense to boot that it didn't matter.

Fissure and Horn Drill were a major part of my victory. That and TONS of carbos (Speed increasers).

Now, this was kinda fun, so I'd love a new challenge.

This time I'd like to request either Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or Fire Red/Leaf Green, mostly because those are a little more balanced and require a little more strategy and thought.


Same rules as before, Monotype or Monoshape.

Good to hear ya enjoyed it. =) I chose your last one, so I'll let someone else throw a challenge your way. But just to note, a monoshape challenge won't be going up in the hall of fame; or at least, not until I make an official ruleset for monoshape, if I ever do.

Yes and no. I did die like 6 or 7 times, but on that 8th time I got lucky enough that they worked on their own. I didn't use save-states though. Might as well use Missing# to get a ton of rare-candies if I'm gonna do that

Emulation like a boss. :thumbsup: I do the same when playing Fire Emblem via emu.

Talk of emulating is prohibited, though... so I'll end the conversation here.

Anyway, yeah, anyone else who wants to challenge me, I'd be more than happy to give it a go.

A Monoshape Challenge to anyone else though-

Only pokemon with multiple limbs/body parts more than a standard natural. I.e., pokemon with more than 2 arms, more than 2 legs, or more than 1 head.

If your unsure about multiple headed pokemon, here's some examples-
Doduo/Dodrio, Magneton, Wheezing, Exeggute, Exeggutor, Dugtrio, a few others probably.

Other Unique examples-
Tangela, Machamp, Claydol, Vulpix, Ninetails, Spinarak, Ariados, Hitmontop, many others probably.

Plenty of options there, your free to choose the game.
