Since this is the "official political discussion thread," I accept your points, and offer the following rebuttal:
1) Many young people vote for Obama because they think he's "cool" and don't know any better. Obama is lauded in schools and in the media as the next best thing since sliced bread, and "how dare you not support him" from indoctrinated people like teachers and the media. And yes, BOTH of these groups have been largely supportive of the Democratic party from the get-go because of their long-standing support for said unions. I have nothing against unions and fully support the rights of workers, but I am a firm believer in the free enterprise system. In America, it is up to each and every one of us to demand what we are worth in the workplace, and to be able to further ourselves through individual efforts. It is a shame when on a weekly basis at this point, we continue to see news stories of children who are persecuted in schools for expressing non-Democrat points of view, in an educational environment that is supposed to be encouraging free, unbiased learning about our country's political and economic state. We shouldn't have to worry about someone's teenage daughter being "thrown out of class" for wearing a Romney-Ryan shirt to school on dress-down day - by a teacher who allowed 6 other students in the same class to wear "Obama-wear," and who declared her school to be a "democratic" school. Free speech applies to everyone. I believe the true meaning of the word, "Democratic," is being lost on our young people's ears nowadays.
2) There are only 2 initiatives that Obama has accomplished in his 4 years in office that he promised he would do if elected...ONLY 2...
First - He passed Obamacare, his healthcare reform legislation. Interesting to note that the majority of states has since filed lawsuit to repeal it, as it poses a financial hardship for those states and most Americans not covered by private insurance, or who are reliant on Medicare for coverage. And it only passed the US House of Reps by 1 vote. When the supreme court ruled on it earlier this year, again, it only passed by 1 vote - and it happened to be the SC Justice that Obama himself appointed only a year ago. Classic example of spoils-system legislation: Apparently, "You don't bite the hand that appoints" carries more weight than the responsibility of justice being blind.
Second - He pulled all of the troops out of Iraq. .......and then he sent them to Afghanistan. Overseas US Troop casualties have increased 3x since this change, with American deaths THOUSANDS higher than when he took office. Yes, Seal Team Six got Bin Laden. This was truly a high-point in our country's war on terror, and I, like most Americans should, applaud SEAL TEAM SIX for this. However, I don't believe his decision to give our most elite seal team permission to go after the world's number 1 most wanted terrorist required a lot of thought or decisiveness. His choice was pretty much this: Either go get Bin Laden, or suffer the consequences of NOT getting him and make the same mistake Clinton made when he had the chance to "take him out" and passed on it. Obviously, this would not be popular in an election year. No-brainer there. Oh, and by the way, since he shifted our military support around, and reduced financial backing to the Pentagon, we have been unable and unwilling to defend our American citizens abroad, leaving our embassies open for attack. Can you say "field day" on US Embassies at this point? Sad, but true. International respect for the U.S. as a country has seriously declined since Obama took office, and we are seeing the long-term effects only now starting to show.
3) While Obama did inherit some economic challenges from the last equally-inept president, he has overseen some of the worst economic proceedings in our nation's history. For the first and ONLY time, the United States' credit rating has been internationally demoted from AAA status. Anyone with any sort of understanding of international finance will tell you that this is going to be felt by our children's children when they go to apply for college loans and mortgages. When banks need to borrow money from China instead of being able to lend from their own reserves, it costs us a fortune as a nation. The national debt has increased more in the last 4 years than it has in the previous 20 years - during administrations by BOTH parties. The value of the American dollar is significantly lower than when he took office, and the unemployment rate has skyrocketed, with no end in sight. With 40 million more Americans on food stamps than just 3 years ago, and a *slight* recent decrease in the unemployment rate due to people who have quit looking for jobs, America has not only lost its financial way - it has been demoralized in the process.
The bottom line is this: Say what you want about the "big wigs on Wall Street" and the "Occupy" protesters that sit on their doorstep. It makes no difference. Before the economy can recover - and this is the most important thing - the business owners and stakeholders who control the nation's companies and industries [JOB PROVIDERS] need to recover the confidence they used to have in the safety and strength of our nation's economy, and this starts with our nation's leaders. Banks currently lack the confidence to loan. Small businesses lack the confidence to hire new employees. Private investors lack the confidence to support those businesses. Until our leadership changes to see someone in power who has a working understanding of the economic needs of our country, we will continue to see conditions as they are with no end in sight. America clearly saw in the most recent debate which candidate knows their financial numbers, and which candidate is struggling just to keep his head above water. Make no bones about it - the economy needs to be at the forefront of the American political debate. All the other "major American" issues revolve around this.
So yes, Obama's a nice guy. He's hip. He's internet savvy. He likes being on TV. He's a terrific family man. And he's the type of guy I wouldn't mind sitting down next to at the bar and sharing a beer with. However, our country needs a strong leader that encourages people to take responsibility - not hand-outs. We need a President that is more about the business of running America, and less about the business of being "buddy-buddy" with its press and its citizens. And FYI - I am not a Republican. I am actually registered to vote under "no party affiliation." I just call it like I see it.

1) Any and all beliefs, opinions, and support of a particular individual or company are attacked or looked down upon by certain communities and fools who express favoritism whereas areas like the workplace demand fairness and neutrality. We could exchange stories of Romney lovers gettin' owned and Obama lovers bein' kicked out all day. In areas where republican support reign supreme, the very opposite of this situation you bring up occurs. With all due respect, your first rebuttal falls short against said logic.
2) Don't care 'bout all that. Ya haven't seen me support either Brock or Mitts, no? I don't keep up with politics enough to vote for a side, nor keep track of what they're doin' right. Just what they're doin' wrong to I can make fun of 'em. If I don't have any motivation to try and debate on somethin' that actually matters; the promises bein' completed or broken; you might question why I'm even respondin' to you. My answer? ... Why the hell not? :lol:
Also, if you're lookin' to win a debate rather simply than guide the mindless to your side (arguably the more important motivation, but you ain't a crooked politician that cares 'bout that, yeah? :lol: ), support your attack on the foe with proper praise of your allies.

That aside, you're supporting Romney by tryin' to remove support from Obama in this "discussion". If him and his associates' practices of economy are so bad, how will your politician do better?
