I would like to see someone get a comp with PS3 stats for less than $600. You cant. So why spend $250 on a console when you can get a $200 comp that can do everything the Wii can plus download old games for free? You want to know of a better investment, **** the Wii and get a PC. i love this thread. it just makes me want to purchase a PS3 even more now.

i got a Wii. since i'm not really a console gamer anymore, i'm 22, living by myself, full-time job, and taking night classes at a CC. life is busy but good for me. anyways i thought the Wii was a next-gen console, until someone mentioned that it was not and that "Reggie" explained that part. i was so disappointed. the only reason why i was getting a Wii was because i thought it was next-gen and that it could deliver some decent kick ass graphics. guess not.

i've got myself a PS2 and i really don't see a big improvment in the graphics on the Wii. granted, the system hasn't been out very long but i'm not impressed. "will i be?" that's the question.

the Wii games give me a sore arm, but it feels good because that's a different approach in gaming. okay. great, so when is that going to wear out? never? i sure as hell hope so, so that my 279.67 after taxes doesn't go to waste. to be honest Nintendo very impressed me with N64 or GameCube. SNES was the best i would say. mario this and mario that. ****, i wonder if mario is like 90 years old because he's getting "old". why is link always in the same type of story as the original back in the day?

I own a PS3 and weigh in around 145 pounds not 300 btw.
600 isnt that much money. the PS3 is a computer and Will run a normal OS. It can be modded and pretty much turned into a computer. So which is better a normal computer or a computer that also has Blue ray and Plays PS2 PS3 and PS1 games as well as regular pc games....Also If you wanna complain about 600$.....The Blu-ray drive, Standalone for a PC is at its cheapest 800. So Sony is pretty much paying you 500 for all the other stuff they put in it.....
Still everything you have said has already been discussed and Disporven on the thread and its all ignorant opinion....

first of all, you said the goal of a game console is to push the limit of tech... last time i checked, people bought game consoles to have fun.

second of all, obviously the wii has done something right- considering its sold almost 8 million consoles worldwide. how many has the ps3 sold... less than half that.

Graphics do not make a system great. They can make it enjoyable, but its not the only reason I would buy a syatem or a game. I've played games on every system I've owned that have been fantastic eye candy but content-wise were crap. For instance, recently, I rented At Worlds End after seeing some commericals and reading some reviews I thought it would be alright. Graphically, it looks amazing, game play is mediocre at best, and camera movement almost ruins it at times. A game can be sold on its graphics, but it won't be played like a game that is fun and has replay value.

If you aren't happy with the horsepower of the Wii, go get a PS3 or a 360. Unlinke alot of people here I realize that the Nintendo Wii was not built to directly compete with Sony or Microsoft. It was a system for fans of gameplay innovation looking for a new take on gaming. Not everyone relys on graphics. And yes the Wii is next gen. Its the next generation of HOW to play.

Yea dude. For one, Oblivion on PS3 is better. It doesnt load as much, at all. Even when on a horse it will never saying loading on the map. The only reason for this is cause they didnt port it from 360 so it was made for the PS3 hardware.

Nobodies touting the Blu-Ray that much. It does make games longer, e.g. Resistance 30 levels to Gears 7. Since both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are 1080p, upscaling DVD's and down scaling BD Roms kinda sell it for me.

Besides, its not like i dont like the Wii, i just dont like the fanboys it comes with.

I know that the internet has changed how the porn industry works. No longer are movie theater style porn shows popular, nor is the need for them to appear on video. Whats hot now is direct internet pictures, video, live video, and games. i never said that graphics make a system great. i'm stating a fact. what's the matter? doesn't it hurt? can't compare the graphics so you want to talk about how good the controller is? well yeah i know it's great. i have a Wii, i know it's great. but when i talk graphics, i mean graphics and not the controller.

wii may be able to have some "good" graphics. but when you compare the "good" graphics of the wii to the "good" graphics of the PS3, the PS3 makes the Wii look like a top notch PS2 game. and yeah i do care about the graphics on a system. so? the Wii in graphical terms was a let down personally. i am starting to get use to the fact that my Wii isn't a graphical system. but still, i don't care if nintendo called my skinny ass and try to convince me that the wii is just as good as a PS3 but in reality it's not. when looking at the specs of the two consoles, it's an easy answer as to say which system can do more. and this has NOTHING to do with the gameplay.
